Print coalition fights FM shops

A coalition of ten printers, designers and
advertising
specialists have joined together as the Direction Group
to offer customers a one-stop shop of integrated marketing
services.
It is a business model that serves as an alternative to that
employed by management and FM print companies.
Membership of the group is by invitation only and print will be
sourced on quality rather than price. No jobs will be put out
to auction since no two firms in the group operate in the same
areas.
It is the brainchild of Chris Parry, former chairman and managing
director of advertising agency FCA! and Richard Stephens, founder
and managing director of Creative Direction Consultants.
Mr Parry says: Here, no-one overlaps so no-one is treading
on
each others toes and we can offer the solution best suited to
the clients needs. Members of the Direction Group include
Geoff
Neal Litho, Feltham; Ruscombe Printing, Reading; Inside Ambient,
Salisbury; and Coutts Retail Advertising, London.
Geoff Neal, managing director of Geoff Neal Litho, says: This
is
different to print facilities management because its a linked
organisation. In facilities management, one company will do their
part of the process and then wash their hands of it.
With us, if a job is wrong we will take joint responsibility
of it.
There will be no mud-slinging.
The service is aimed at companies with £2m-3m budgets for
adverts, promotions and events. The customer will meet with
a single member from the group who will advise and consult on
the best programme.
